Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu has turned down an offer to return to former club Asante Kotoko, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The Porcupine Warriors are desperately searching for a substantive coach with Mas-Ud Dramani expected to exit after the expiration of his four months accumulated leave.

Konadu’s name featured prominently at the club’s headquarters with reports claiming he had been contacted for the job.

But sources say an initial approach is said to have been turned down respectfully by Konadu, who wants to concentrate on his Black Stars duties.

The former Ghana international is fans’ favourite after he led team to win the Ghana Premier League crown three years ago.

Ex-Hearts trainer David Duncan is being mooted as Dramani’s successor with former BA United trainer Frimpong Manso throwing himself into the hat.
