Kotoko will take on nine-time champions of Congo Club Athlétique Renaissance Aiglon in the preliminary stage of the 2018 CAF Confederations Cup.

The first leg will take place in Kumasi on the weekend of 9-11 of February 2018 with the 2nd leg in Congo on the weekend of 20-21 February 2018.

The Black Stars B WAFU Cup winning coach, called on the two clubs to put adequate measures in place to make meaningful impact in their respective competitions.

"They should forget about walking over any team,” said Maxwell Konadu.

”Football has changed; gone are the days when Ghana plays Uganda and it’s walk over for Ghana.

"Today it’s not so. That’s why every team must prepare well for every competition in Africa

"The mentality of walking over certain teams and some countries not being football countries is now things of the past. It doesn’t work anymore.

"Our teams must prepare well and go out there to prove their worth. No one should be boasting that we come from Ghana. They shouldn’t under rate any team."

Aduana Stars are making their second appearance in the CAF Champions League having last participated in 2010 when they first won the domestic top-flight.

The Ghanaian Champions have already started a facelift of the Nana Agyemang Badu Stadium where they will be hosting their home matches in Africa.
