Medeama midfielder Malik Akowuah claims he's close to joining giants Hearts of Oak.

Hearts have been scouring for a midfield engine ahead of the next season and appears they now have their man.

The 26-year-old has constantly been linked with a move to the capital-based side.

And the former Ashantigold and Great Olympics enforcer has announced his next destination in dramatic fashion.

"Its almost a done deal now for me to join Accra Hearts of Oak for the 2016/17 league season," he told Kumasi-based Angel FM

"I was contacted by Mr Edmund Ackah of Kumasi Asante Kotoko but he wasn't serious about a possible move."

GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm Medeama are willing to let the midfielder go and are currently engaged in financial terms regarding the transfer.

The midfielder has agreed personal terms and will sign a long-term contract pending the passing of a medical.

Akowuah is one of Medeama's most influential players and impressed heavily during the 2016 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
