Medeama captain Muntari Tagoe confident side will upstage Ashantigold to lift Super Cup

Highly-influential Medeama goalkeeper Muntari Tagoe remains defiant about his side's chances against Ashantigold in Sunday's Super Cup clash.

The Mauve and Yellows, who are the current FA Cup holders, will square off against the Premier League champions to usher in the new season.

The game present the two teams with the perfect tonic to test their mettle ahead of their first league meeting on February 21.

And highly-rated goalkeeper Muntari Tagoe is confident his side will emerge victorious.

"We are preparing and we're ready for Ashantigold," he said

"We know it's not going to be easy, but we have what it takes to win this cup.

"This game is very important for us and so we'll try as much possible to win.

"My boys are prepared. I think I allow the pitch to do the talking. Let's just wait and see what happens."

Tagoe is widely perceived as the best goalkeeper in the local league despite been overlooked for national team call-up.

The former Zaytuna and Sporting Mirren shot-stopper was voted the Best Goalkeeper in the 2015 MTN FA Cup.
