Medeama CEO James Essilfie has attributed the success of the team in the MTN FA Cup to the immense work done by coach Tom Strand.

The Yellow and Mauves clinched their second FA Cup title on Sunday with a 2-1 win over Asante Kotoko in Sekondi.

Tom Strand only joined Medeama at beginning of the season as a replacement for Prince Owusu who left to take up an assistant coaching job with Sudanese club Al Khartoum.

The Swedish coach has been hailed by his CEO for transforming the youthful side.

"We've realised that Tom [Strand] is a good coach," he said.

"He has totally transformed the side with a lot of youngsters.

"We used to go in for expensive players and that didn't help us.  Now we've turn to use youngsters and the coach has guided them very well.

"He has totally transformed the team and we are highly impressed and satisfied with his output."
