Medeama president Moses Armah has hit back at the father of Theophilus Anoobah,  labeling his unwarranted attacks as Â unfortunate, baseless, wicked and ill-informed.

Anoobah's father launched the shocking attack on the respected football owner over claims he was frustrating his son from seeking a move away from the club.

Mr Anoobah claimed amongst others that the club president has thwarted the efforts of his son in sealing several moves to Europe and South Africa.

But in a statement signed by president Moses Armah on Tuesday, the astute football owner has described as unfortunate, baseless and wicked attempts by Anoobah’s father to blame him for the current situation.

“I am shocked and disappointed with unwarranted attack on the club and my person from the father of Theophilus Anoobah over his son,” Armah told the club's website.

“His comments were unfortunate, baseless, wicked and ill-informed. I have no intention to frustrate any player at the club and will not do so against a player who has contributed to our modest achievement.

“But there are laid down rules and regulations which must be respected by every individual who works for the club.

“He is contracted to the club until 2016 and must therefore stick to his contract. It is important to note that Anoobah has NEVER been frustrated in attempts whatsoever to travel abroad.

“Indeed we’ll welcome such move if it mutually beneficial.

“We are reliably informed that he has signed a contract with an unnamed Libyan side and hoping that we can allow him to leave for free. But that will NEVER happen under any circumstance.

“The club has taken the first step to suspend him as we monitor the situation.

“I will urge his father to be abreast with the details before he expose his ignorance on national radio.

"This agenda or plan to make me unpopular is being hatched  by Space FM journalists Kwesi Bright and James Bawah. But they are small fishes who will not survive in the sea."

Anoobah has been a key member of the side over the last couple of years but seems to have lost favour due to perceived attitudinal problems.

He was a member of the Ghana's home-based Black Stars which clinched silver at the 2014 CHAN tournament in South Africa.
