Medeama coach blames Hearts defeat on bad luck

Medeama coach Bashir Hayford attributed his side's 2-1 Glo Ghana Premier League defeat against Hearts of Oak to bad luck.

The Mauve and Yellow succumbed to defeat after taking the lead through a Francis Kwofie spot kick on 25 minutes.

The lead however lasted for just three minutes as striker Mahatma Otoo shot from the edge of the box to equal the scores before the break.

Hearts scored the eventual winner through Attakora Gyimah who tucked in a poor desperate clearance which stood despite protest by Medeama players and officials over a prior free kick but Hayford resisted apportioning blame to anyone – saying it was another bad day in the office.

"I believe we played well to deserve a win against Hearts of Oak but we were clearly unlucky," he told MTNFootball.com.

"I will not comment about controversial referee decisions. I think we matched our opponents in all departments but we just had a bad day."

The result pushed Medeama one step down on the league ladder to 9th place with 15 points.
