Embattled Medeama coach Tom Strand has issued a groveling apology to the club over his recent conduct which appears to have dented his image.

Medeama were left baffled with Strand's shocking behaviour after he stayed away from the club's training last week.

The club was forced to deny widespread reports he had gone AWOL after he missed the side's 1-0 win over Inter Allies last Wednesday.

The Swedish trainer again watched from the stands as his side managed a hard-fought 1-0 win over leaders Wa All Stars on Sunday.

The former Bechem United gaffer has apologised to the club for his 'wayward' attitude in recent times, promising to turn over a new leaf.

"It's my deepest sympathy and regret that I want to sincerely apologise to the club for my shameful act," part of his apology letter cited by GHANAsoccernet.com read

"Management, dear colleagues, I want to apologise and say sorry even though I know words don't mean anything until I proved myself worthy.

He continued: "This act will not happen again so help me God.

"I am ashamed of what has happened and wish to reiterate my love for this great club. I intend to work with my backroom staff who have been extremely supportive all this while.

"I hope my apology is accepted so we can forge ahead as a unit and work together to make the club hugely successful both in Ghana and Africa." the letter concluded.

The two-time Ghanaian FA Cup holders will shift their attention to continental football this weekend when they play as guest of South African side Mamelodi Sundowns in the first leg play-off tie in the CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday.
