Medeama defender Acheampong on trials abroad without permission

Medeama defender Otuo Acheampong has travelled abroad for trials with an unknown club, GHANAsoccernet.com has gathered.

The stop-gap captain of the Mauves and Yellows has left the club without trace.

He requested for a day’s off but has since not reported to the team’s base in Tarkwa.

GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal that the towering centre-back has travelled abroad with the aid of an agent to secure a move elsewhere.

The latest development will be seen as a major disappointment to those who have hailed his performance in the Ghanaian top-flight.

Otuo’s ability has not been in doubt and seen by many as a huge  Black Stars potential  but now faces severe punishment from his club for going AWOL.

The league leaders have officially notified the Ghana FA over the behavior of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology graduate.

“Though management is dealing with the issue internally, we deem it appropriate to notify the FA who are regulators of the game,” CEO James Esilifie told the club’s official website.

‘We don’t want anyone to take undue advantage of the situation.”

He is a member of Ghana's local Black Stars.
