Medeama have denied reports Tom Strand has gone AWOL but will hold a crunch meeting with the Swedish tactician on Thursday over his conduct.

The club's technical director Augustine Evans Adotey opened the lid on the growing reports suggesting the 33-year-old appears to be ending his stay at the club.

He failed to supervise the team's 1-0 win over Inter Allies on Wednesday to fuel speculation surrounding his long-term future.

But in a swift statement issued by the two-time Ghana FA Cup champions on Thursday, the club has denied claims he has gone AWOL but admitted his attitude is a source of worry for the club's top hierarchy.

"Medeama would like to deny widespread media reports claiming coach Tom Strand has gone AWOL," a statement signed by the club's Chief Executive James Essilfie read

"Strand is currently at his residence in Tarkwa and so reports that he is ‘lost’ must be disregarded.

"However, management is concerned about his attitude in recent weeks and will hold a crunch meeting with him today (Thursday) to take a definite decision.

"He has not trained the team since Monday and failed to show up for our deserved Premier League win over Inter Allies on Wednesday."

The club also revealed it will take a decision on his log-term future with the club.

"The club top hierarchy is concerned about the growing situation involving our coach and will announce in due course the next line of action.

"We would like to assure our teeming supporters that we remain focus and resolute in our quest to make the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup and make a significant impact in the domestic league."
