Medeama have insisted Bashir Hayford remained their coach days after rumours suggested he has been sacked.

The future of the former Asante Kotoko trainer has come under microscope with reports suggesting in the local media that he has been relieved of his post.

But the club have vehemently denied the reports insisting he remains at post.

“Our attention has been drawn to wild media reports that suggest that Medeama have sacked head coach Bashir Hayford,” Executive vice-president Albert Commey told the club’s website.

“We would like to place on record that no such decision has been taken and he will continue to serve in his capacity as the head trainer of the club.

“Management has absolute trust and confidence in his ability and has not dispensed with his services.

‘We would urge the media to desist from peddling such falsehood since it has the propensity to destabilize our team.

“The coach needs the support of everyone to succeed at the club.”

Hayford’s men have suffered two successive defeats after a fantastic start to the season.
