Defender Ishmael Hammond scored a scintillating header to hand Medeama a precious 1-0 win over All Stars on Sunday.

The strong centre-back connected well to Theophilus Anobah’s cross to give the home side the maximum points to move them to 5th on the table.

The Mauve and Yellows needed another win to inspire confidence among the suffering fans after a difficult start to the season.

The FA Cup holders had won only against Amidaus Professionals at home this season after losing to Heart of Lions while drawing their respective home games so far.

But Augustine Adotey’s men came to the party at the Tarkwa and Aboso Park as the dazzled with some swash-buckling free flowing game at home to defeat the Wa-based side.

Medeama have jumped to 5th on the table with an improved 14 points and will travel to Cape Coast to face Ebusua Dwarfs in their next game on Sunday.
