Medeama president Moses Armah is backing his side to silence the doubters ahead of their crunch CAF Confederation Cup play-off tie against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.

The Ghanaians face a daunting task to progress into the group stage against the newly crowned South African PSL Champions.

Several bookmakers have tipped Sundowns to edge the hugely respected emerging West Africans due to their recent domestic triumph.

But the club's affable and ever-smiling president Moses Armah has charged his troops to make the unthinkable become a reality.

"The stakes are high for both teams but we're more determined," he said

"We want to win and make our people back home happy.

"Of course people have said it may be difficult for us. But nothing is impossible in football.

"We need to keep our eyes on the ball and ensure we don't give so much space at the back.

"There are always going to be doubters. It's natural. But it's up to us to prove them wrong and get them on our side.

"I will urge our people to pray for us and continue to support us because this is a battle between Ghana and South Africa."

The two-time Ghanaian FA Cup champions are hoping to be second time lucky after missing qualification to the group stage by a whisker two years ago.
