Medeama strike late to move top

Striker Kabiru Moro scored late to hand Medeama a precious 1-0 win over Heart of Lions at home to move top of the Ghana Premier League table on Sunday.

Medeama made it two successive wins after the former Asante Kotoko striker netted in the 87th minute.

The Mauves and Yellows kept the chunk of possession but failed to make their superiority count as the visitors put up a solid defensive display in the first half.

Medeama were hoping to count on their famous 1-0 win at AshantiGold in midweek but once again fluffed in front of their teeming fans as Lions frustrated them in the better part of the exchanges.

With three minutes remaining, the captain popped up to score the decisive goal to send their teeming supporters into spontaneous jubilation.

The win ensures Medeama leapfrog Aduana Stars at the summit of the table after the Dorma-based side shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at Berekum Arsenals in a regional derby.
