Medeama to face All Stars in MTN FA Cup after winning appeal

Published on: 22 June 2011

The Appeals Committee of the Ghana Football Association has overturned an earlier decision to declare Medeama losers of the MTN FA Cup round of 16 tie against Sportin Mirren.

Medeama defeated second-tier side Mirren 1-0 but the disciplinary committee ruled the former flouted the rules by wearing unapproved stripes.

The Tarkwa-based side wore yellow and white hoses instead of yellows hoses.

Medeama will face Wa All Stars at the Wa Park on Sunday and the winner will play Asante Kotoko in the semi-final.

Abedi Pele's Nania FC have already qualified for the finals after eliminating league champions Berekum Chelsea.
