Chief Executive Officer of Medeama James Essilfie has revealed the club will play a series of international friendly matches in preparation for their campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Yellow and Mauves will be making a second participation in Africa’s second tier club football following their success in the MTN FA Cup.

Medeama have targeted a place in the group phase of the competition having stuttered at the final preliminary hurdle the last time they were in the competition.

Club CEO James Essilfie says the club will prepare itself adequately to compete favourably in Africa this term.

"We want to make a significant impact in Africa this time around,” he said.

“And therefore we plan to prepare very well for the Confederation Cup.

“We intend to play friendly matches both local and international friendly matches to adequately prepare the side."

Medeama are likely to get extra funding for their upcoming African campaign with the signing of a partnership agreement with Saud Arabian club Al-Wahda on Thursday.
