Medeama coach Tom Strand was named Best Coach for the 2014/2015 MTN FA Cup competition at an awards ceremony in Accra on Friday night.

The Swede beat Asante Kotoko’s David Duncan to the coveted as the two were the only shortlisted coaches.

He received a cash prize of 1,000 Ghana cedis which was sponsored by Unicon Travel and Tours.

Strand guided the Mauve and Yellows to nick a 2-1 win over the Porcupine Warriors in last month’s final played in Sekondi.

His prize tag has rocketed and has been linked with a move to Hearts of Oak who are prize to meet his buy-out clause with the Tarkwa-based side.

The 32-year-old was playing his second season in Ghana's top-flight after previously leading Bechem United to sixth-place.
