The 24-year-old started his career in 2007 when he won a reality show called the MTN Academy in Ghana. The triumph in the competition gave him a two week trial opportunity with Chelsea but he failed to secure a contract after his time with the English giants.

He played for Zaytuna, Sporting Mirren before signing for Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko in 2009.

From Kotoko Baah moved to FC Honka in Finland and after just a season where he played 29 games and scored 2 goals he joined current finish champions HJK Helsinki.

Sam was born in Leeds, but his family moved to London when he was two months old. Sam began his football career at Charlton Athletic but spent a portion of his childhood living in Senegal where he attended Dakar Academy. In 1998, Sam was asked to attend a trial at Italian side Empoli, with his older brother Andrew. However, neither was successful. When Sam's family returned to London in 1998, he was offered trials at both Wimbledon and Arsenal, but instead re-joined Charlton on Academy terms.

He now plays for New York Red Bulls in the MLS.
