The Melcom Group of Companies have expressed interest in renewing the contract of Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan as their leading brand ambassador.

The Black Stars captain is in the concluding period of his two-year deal with the shopping giants.

Gyan has been a massive success with Melcom, using his stardom to drive sales through highly persuasive advertisements.

One of such adverts was an act where the Al Ain ace tried in vain to prove to a little girl within one of Melcom's shopping outlets that indeed he was Asamoah Gyan.

The girl eventually found out that Gyan was telling the truth but then it was too late as she had been placed in a vehicle set to leave the premises.

Chairman of Melcom Mr. Bahdwan Saldwani says his firm is more than eager to extend their corporate relationship with the ex Sunderland ace despite his recent challenges both on and off the field of play.

"Asamoah [Gyan] has been a fantastic addition to our family and we are more than willing to ensure he remains with us," he said during a meeting with Gyan's business manager and spokesman Samuel Anim Addo.

"Even though the Black Stars didn't meet expectations at the 2014 World Cup, Asamoah showed his class through his obvious dedication which saw him score two goals to set an African record at the tournament.

"He has been through very difficult times due to the disappearance of his friend Castro but we want him to know that we are firmly with him all the way.

"We will keep on with the discussions that I am sure will end is us extending our relationship."
