Asante Kotoko are expecting captain Michael Akuffu to return to training with his proposed move to Libya yet to go through.
The Ghanaian champions accepted a US$ 150,000 offer from Al Ahli Sports Club but his transfer is yet to be concretized due to the current politically-induced violence in the North African country.
Kotoko had previously rejected a US$ 100,000 deal from another Libyan outfit Al Akhdar.
A club statement read: ââ¬ÅMichael Akuffoââ¬â¢s deal has not been completed. He is expected to train with team as soon as possible while waiting for confirmation from the club he wants to play for.ââ¬
Akuffu joined Kotoko four seasons ago from Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord Academy and has been a faithful servant.
He captained the team to win the league and FA Cup double this season.
Akuffu was a member of the Ghana team which won silver at the 2014 African Nation Championship in South Africa.
