While AC Milan struggling were busy playing their final home game of the Italian top-flight game against Torino last Sunday,Michael Essien was in Montecarlo to watch a Formula 1 Grand Prix Championship. 

The 32-year-old is set to leave San Siro at the end of the season after a difficult spell in the final days of his time.

Essien has been criticized in the Italian media for leaving the club to watch a Formula Grand Prix Championship at a time that the club needed him most.

Milan have endured a difficult campaign this season having miss out on  an European football qualification despite their 3-0 win over their opponent at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
