Panathinaikos new signing Michael Essien has revealed his joined the club to win trophies.

Manager Yannis Anastasiou snapped up the 32-year-old on a free transfer from Italian giants AC Milan.

Essien has penned a two-year deal with the Greek champions and says he joined the club to win trophies.

“I am very happy that I am here and that I will continue my career in Panathinaikos. I am looking forward to meet my new team and win trophies with my new teammates, he said “ I want to give back the love that everyone has shown me and to thank the fans that welcomed me so warmly.”

The Ghanaian international is at the twilight of his career with just few years left before he hangs up his boot.
