Michael Essien goes into cycling

Chelsea star Michael Essien has stunned team-mates by kicking his £190,000 Lamborghini into touch and pedalling into work on a PUSH BIKE.

He regularly cycles the 10-mile round trip from his Surrey mansion to the Blues' Cobham training ground.

Shocked Premier League buddies have even nicknamed the £120,000-a-week Ghana midfielder "Lance", after Tour de France legend Lance Armstrong.

While the rest park up their Bentleys and Porsches, Michael, 27, cuts a cool figure in helmet and wraparound shades as he gets off his £1,300 two-wheeled racer.

The Stamford Bridge hero, injured for much of last season, said: "I started coming in by bike because I found it interesting.

"I just thought it would be a nice journey - and it's good for my fitness."
