Ghana midfield star Michael Essien could return to Chelsea as it has emerged that the Blue have offered Jose Mourinho a contract to return the English club.

Essien, who is on loan at Real Madrid from Chelsea, moved to the Spanish club on the orders of Mourinho, the man he considers as his father.

The Ghanaian player was given the chance by Mourinho to revive his career at Real Madrid after suffering less playing time at Chelsea.

Essien was among one of Mourinho’s early signing at Chelsea and with the Ghanaian’s performance at Real Madrid the Portuguese trainer could bring the Ghanaian back to Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho has been offered a three-year contract to take over at Chelsea in the summer.

According to Le 10 Sport, the Portuguese has been presented with the lucrative deal by the European champions and is minded to accept it, though nothing has yet been signed by the current Real Madrid manager.

The deal on the table for Mourinho is believed to be worth between €10M and €15M net per year.

Mourinho joined Chelsea in 2004 from FC Porto, leading the Blues to two Premier League titles.

He left in 2007 after failing to make the desired impact in Europe.

@blackroze, u are right, but most of d problems still boil down to african football organistions nd management..the players don't want to give their best for national teams cos of so many factors (1) when a player sustain an injury during a national team game he will be left alone to carry his cross, essien is very good example (2)there are no proper developmental programmes,we often use overage players for age grade competitions wich europeans don't (3) bcos of d poverty level in africa some rich players manover their ways into national team even when they don't merit to be there (4)africans don't give their national team coaches enough time to build a formidable national team....just to mention few, imagine an IV team with all its stars has never make it out of a world cup group... All these are problems dat needs to be addressed

Awww Tanco, I've tried that team before in PES13 and trust me we were a force to reckon with, only poor football management has reduced us to forming our own BS team in a game console now oo

@blackroze, l used d team last night when l was playing pes13 it is real a force to recon with....but my questions is dat are we going to be loosing all our african best legs to europeans national teams?...l think something needs to be done urgently...why not even essien,KPB,Muntari,Ayew brothers, warris nd frimpong at d last nations cup? May be dat would have ended ghana 33yrs of trophy drought...l pray for my super eagles nd black stars to qualify for d world cup, may be dis players will reconsider their international future

Truth be told, I secretly have this sense of joy whenever these teams represent africa in the mundial : Ghana, Naija and IC, sometimes South Africa, but they tend to play Arsenal kinda game, beautiful ball, no results, Africans command the European games too, so why we can't emulate it at the Wc baffles me, eg: when Drogba made nonsense of Real Madrid's rising star Varane, Kpb matching Barca boot for boot each time they meet, Yaya Toure tearing down defences with his runs,V.Moses slicking pass defences in the wings all these but when they come down and the going gets tough, they don't take the "initiative" like they do in their clubs, someone might argue that the quality of players at the club is diff. But I maintain the word "initiative" cos where is Aguero when Toure decides to make those runs? Where was mata and hazard when moses run from behind to score that winner at shahktar? They all took the "initiative".
