Bafana Bafana midfielder Thulani Serero has reportedly attracted interest from Serie A giants AC Milan.

The Ajax Amsterdam star has continued to make waves in the Dutch Eredivisie, with reports from Italy suggesting the seven-time Champions League winners are keen to acquire his services in the European summer.

According to TimesLive, Italian club bosses have been impressed by the deep-lying midfielder's versatility and believe he can adapt to life in Italy's top flight.

This would mean that the Rossoneri would have to sell one of their non European internationals due to the league's restrictions on players from outside the continents boarders.

While the rule may vary (it is complicated), it simply suggests that clubs may only contract three players from outside the EU to their club, meaning Ghanaians Sulley Muntari or Michael Essien would likely have to make way for Milan to pen Serero.

The 24-year-old South African has made 28 appearances for Ajax this season, chipping in with a single goal.

Essien and Muntari have together manged 27 appearances in all competitions.

Serero's current deal expires in June 2017.
