Michael Essien to wear No.15 jersey at AC Milan

Ghana midfielder Michael Essien has been handed the number 15 jersey at AC Milan, GHANASoccernet.com can confirm.

The 31-year-old completed his move from English Premier League side Chelsea on Monday by signing a one-and-half-year contract.

Essien will be available to his coach Clarence Seedorf from tomorrow (Tuesday) when the squad recommence preparations and training ahead of this Saturday’s match at home to Torino.

He has made 462 appearances in competitive matches in Europe spread across Bastia, Lyon, Chelsea, Real Madrid and again with Chelsea.

In the 2012-13 season, Essien played 35 competitive matches for Real Madrid: 21 in the league, 7 in the Spanish Cup and 7 in the Champions League.
