Al Ain have sprung yet another transfer surprise by signing Brazil midfielder Michel Bastos two years after grabbing the headlines for their shocking move for Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan.
The UAE champions sealed a deal with Olympique Lyon on Friday to sign the ex Lille man for an undisclosed fee.
Bastos arrived to a rousing welcome in Abu Dhabi in the early hours of Saturday where several of the club fans who are observing fast gathered to welcome their new icon.
The player will sign subsequently sign a deal after which the full details over the monies involved and the duration of his contract will be made public.
Bastos arrival is expected to help the Boss in their pursuit of continental glory after domiating their domestic league competition for the past two seasons.
He will be linking up with Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan and the rest of the Al Ain teammates before their Super Cup clash against rivals Al Ahli at the end of August.
