Micky Gray urges Newcastle to go after Arsenal pair Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain

Former Sunderland defender Micky Gray thinks that Newcastle United, if promoted to the Premier League this summer, should pursue Arsenal duo Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The Toon currently occupy top spot in the Championship and are favourites to win promotion to Premier League come May.

However, Gray thinks that Magpies boss Rafa Benitez would need to sign talent like the Arsenal duo to ensure their long-term top-level status.

When asked about Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gray told talkSPORT: "They do like their wide players.

"They've certainly had some very talented wide players over the years.

"And with Newcastle coming up, it's a stadium that has found it difficult over the years to attract players.

"But if they are to get back to where they belong then these are the type of players that they have to look for."
