English side Middlesbrough have turned down a £3million bid from their second tier Nottingham Forest for Ghana international winger Albert Adomah.

The 26-year-old winger has been stalked by Forest for the last few weeks and is believed to be their leading target to play on the flanks.

This is Forest's second bid for the former non-league player and they have indicated they will not be upping their offer.

The offer was an improved bid from Forest having had an initial offer turned down by their Championship counterparts.

Boro now hope that Adomah, who was part of the Ghana World Cup squad that played in the World Cup, will sign a new deal to kill off the interest in him.

Adomah joined Middlesbrough from Bristol City last year and scored 12 goals in the league last season.
