Middlesbrough coach Aitor Karanka has set a 12-goal target for Albert Adomah to fire the club to Championship glory.

The Ghanaian international has already hit the ground running this season with a fine start Boro.

The 26-year-old has been tasked to bag at least 12 goals to propel the club to success.

“Last season we had Adomah as top scorer, and this season I would like to have Adomah with 10 or 12 goals, Kike with 20 and Bamford with 20,” Karanka told the club’s website.

“I know how important Patrick Bamford would also be to us.

“I want Patrick because his best position is a striker and he can score a lot of goals. Last season I think he scored 26 goals, 18 at MK Dons and eight for Derby in 18 games.

“We need to have players who can score goals.”

The Ghana World Cup star notched 14 goals to emerge the club’s top scorer and best player last season.
