AshantiGold midfielder Aaron Amoah has savoured his wonder strike in his sidesââ¬â¢s 1-1 daw with Medeama on Sunday.
The 18-year-old thrilled the crowd with his fifth goal of the campaign, skipping past two helpless defenders and burying the finish as part of a highly impressive all-round performance.
And though was delighted to have got on the scoresheet, Amoah bemoaned the teamââ¬â¢s inability to pick maximum points at home to keep track of leaders Asante Kotoko.
ââ¬ÅI got the ball outside the box and just gave it a go, getting past the defenders and shooting at goal. Thankfully for me it got past the keeper and into the back of the net,â⬠he said.
ââ¬ÅI was happy with my performance and to score a goal is great, but these are games we need to win.ââ¬
The youngster also insists he is only concentrated on helping the Obuasi-based club finish the highest they can despite widespread interests from European clubs.
ââ¬ÅRight now that is not important to me. I would love to play at the highest level, but we need to make sure that we hold on to second place in the remaining games.ââ¬
