Midfielder Mubarak Wakaso reaches double figures for Ghana after goal in Comoros win
Mubarak Wakaso has become a key Ghana player

Three years after getting his senior national team debut, Spain-based midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has established himself as a goal scorer for Ghana.

The speedy midfielder is almost a like-for-like swap for the iced Sulley Muntari in terms of style and character. And now, the La Liga-based player has hit double figures for Ghana.

His swinging strike for the Black Stars on Tuesday moved him to 11 goals in national colours - and he's earned it.

The goal was the first in a 2-0 win over Comoros in a 2018 World Cup second round second leg qualifier. And it was the sort he has become known for in his three years with the side - long rangers and piled rivers that leave 'keepers rooted.

Fans in Kumasi celebrated his goal as he pumped his chest with feeling, indicating how far he has come since marking his debut in October 2012.

It's been 39 games, but after Wakaso scored his first Ghana goal in a friendly against Cape Verde in November 2012, it's been passionate performances galore. Of note in his national career is how he top-scored for Ghana at the 2013 Afcon with four goals.

In fact, he was joint-top scorer in the tournament with Nigeria's Emmanuel Emenike.
