Milan chief Galliani declares no signings in January with Muntari set to return

Adriano Galliani says AC Milan will not buy any midfielders in the January transfer window with the return of Sulley Muntari in sight.

Milan have been dealt another major injury blow with news Nigel De Jong is set to miss the remainder of the season with a snapped Achilles tendon.

De Jong’s injury has seen the Italian press go into an overdrive with several speculations over who will be bought in January to replace him.

But the AC Milan Vice President has declared no acquisitions will be made considering injured Sulley Muntari is expected back anytime soon.

"Sulley Muntari to replace De Jong? Absolutely. Muntari, he's fine, then there Ambro (Ambrosini), maybe Montolivo," he said.

“We thought of letting go of Strasser and instead kept him, we close the market in midfield.”

Muntari has been on the road to recovery since suffering a serious knee injury during his summer holidays in Ghana.

He is expected to be fully fit by the end of January.
