Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah says Milovan Rajevac is the best coach he has worked with at the national team level after giving him his first opportunity with the Black Stars.

The 24-year-old was handed his first senior national team call up in 2010 having excelled with the Ghana U20 side.

Mensah was one of several players in the Black Satellites team that benefited immensely from their historic feat at the FIFA U20 World Cup in 2009.

About eight players from that iconic squad were handed call ups to the Black Stars squad for the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations during the reign of Serbian coach Milovan Rajevac.

Most of the young players invited, were retained for Ghana’s second World Cu campaign months later in South Africa.

The then-Udinese youngster played three of Ghana’s five games at the 2010 World Cup where the Black Stars came very close to becoming the first African side to make the semi finals of the tournament.

Mensah who now plays for French club Evian TG has now described Milovan Rajevac as the best coach he has ever worked with during his interaction with his fans on social networking site, Twitter.

“Milovan Rajevac. He gave me a chance with the Black Stars,” Mensah Tweeted in response to a question.

Rajevac however did not remain as Ghana coach after guiding the side to an impressive World Cup campaign which ended agonizingly in the quarter finals against Uruguay.

The Serbian trainer decided to cash in on his World Cup fame by signing for Saud Arabian club Al-Ahli instead of agreeing to extend his stay with the Black Stars.
