''Missing CHAN final will be criminal''-Ghana assistant coach

Ghana assistant coach Nurudeen Amadu insists failure to reach the final of this month's CHAN tournament in Sudan will be "criminal."

The current local Black Stars squad must equal or better the achievement of the silver medal winning team in Ivory Coast two years ago.

The team wrapped up a two-week training tour of Nairobi, Kenya where they played three test matches-One win, one defeat and a draw.

Ghana open their campaign against South Africa on 5 February before engaging Zimbabwe and Niger in Group B.

"It will be detrimental to the team as well as to the technical bench. We are even not sure what people will say back home should they know we lost to a Kenyan Premier League side," Amadu explained after last Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Gor Mahia.

Ghana's squad are expected to arrive in Sudan on Wednesday from Nairobi.
