Ghana international midfielder Mohammed Abu was sent off during Stromsgodset's 3-2 reverse at Stabaek IF in the Norwegian Eliteserien on Saturday evening.

The 23-year-old got marched off the pitch in the 82nd minute after picking a double-booking at the Nadderud Stadion in a highly entertaining game which saw Ghanaian winger Ernest Asante score a superb lob.

Abu, a former Manchester City player, was first booked on the 47th minute before receiving his second card 8 minutes from time.

This means the 2012 AFCON Ghana midfielder will miss Stromsgodset's next game in the Eliteserien and will return on July 12 to face Lillestrøm.

However he will be available for Stromsgodset's Uefa Europa League clash against Albanian side Partizani Tirana on Thursday.
