Big-spending French side Monaco have turned their attention to signing AC Milan's Ghanaian midfielder Kevin Prince-Boateng after sealing deals for Radamel Falcao and Ricardo Carvalho.

Monaco completed a double transfer swoop later on Wednesday by wrapping up deals for Falcao and Carvalho in bumper cash deals.

Falcao completed his medical on Tuesday night with the finishing touches being applied to his €60million move from Atletico Madrid.

Carvalho signed a one-year deal with the option of another 12 months having barely featured for Real Madrid this season.

But there is no end in sight to their lavish spending as Monaco now go up against Tottenham and Manchester City in the race to sign the Ghana international.

Spurs were preparing to bring the German born Ghanaian international back to White Heart Lane three seasons after he left from failing to make an impact at the club.

Manchester City were also alleged to be interested but it’s thought that they won’t be making any moves until a new manager is in place at The Etihad.

The 26-year-old struggled to establish himself in the Spurs squad the first time around and after a short loan spell with Borussia Dortmund he quickly left for Portsmouth where he managed to win the FA Cup before leaving to flourish in Serie A with the Milan giants.

However, his availability has triggered interest from Monaco, who are brimming with cash since being bought by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev in 2011.

Rybolovlev is hoping to turn Monaco into title contenders in their first season back in Ligue 1 next year and could launch a move Boateng after making tentative enquiries.

Boateng has made 98 appearances for the Serie A giants, scoring 15 goals.

Meanwhile, Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes could yet join them after holding talks with the French club, but his agent revealed he is also weighing up interest from the Premier League.

The free-spending club are also rumoured to be preparing a big money bid for Zenit St Petersburg forward Hulk.

The Brazilian made a poor start to his Zenit career and has struggled to settle in Russia.

Porto pair, and Hulk's former team-mates, James Rodriguez and Joao Moutinho have already being lured to the Principality with the Russian-backed outfit determined to make a major impact following promotion to Ligue 1.
