Ghana FA Vice President Fred Crentsil has dismissed claims the association is delaying the appointment of a new coach for the Black Stars over excessive financial demands made by the interviewed candidates.

The GFA is yet to proceed to the next stage of negotiations after interviewing three coaches for the vacant job.

Michel Pont, Juan Ignacio Jiminenz and Avram Grant were interviewed last weekend to become the substantive replacement for Kwesi Appiah.

The interviewing panel have since submitted their report to the GFA’s Executive Committee for further consideration.

The GFA is however yet to engage any of the three interviewed coaches in further negotiations days after conducting the interview.

Rumours making rounds suggests the GFA might resort to head hunting after realizing the demands being made by the interviewed candidates is in far excess of their budget.

But GFA Vice President Fred Crentsil says the process is yet to get to the negotiating stage as the Executive Committee is yet to make its choice on who they intend to appoint.

“The Ghana FA is yet to settle on a candidate for the job,” he told MTNFootball.com.

“Once the decision is made, we will go ahead and engage that candidate in further negotiations.

“Of course they made their demands [during the interview] but they know we will always engage them in negotiations once we settle on a particular candidate.

“At this point, demands have not been discussed. We are yet to settle on a candidate.”

The appointment of a new coach for the Black Stars was expected to be in place before Ghana takes on Uganda and Togo in the final round of 2015 AFCON qualifiers next month.

It however appears from the look of things, this expectation will not be met with some few weeks left to resumption of the qualifiers.
