Sampdoria coach Vincenzo Montella felt his side deserved their 1-1 draw with Lazio despite only equalising in the dying seconds.
A Ervin Zukanovic deflected free-kick in stoppage time gave the Blucerchiati a point after earlier going behind to a 78th minute header from Lazio striker Alessandro Matri.
“Surely this draw is like a victory, the team had a great attitude,” Montella told Sky Sport Italia.
“We definitely did not deserve to lose tonight. We had the belief and had a great reaction after going behind.
“I believe our minds were free during the game, because if you are not free of mind you don’t have a reaction like that.
“I’m really very proud of this team and the attitude we had on the field.”
Sampdoria now face Palermo in Genoa on Sunday hoping to pick up their first three points since beating Hellas Verona in late October.
