Montenergo name squad to face Ghana without stars Mirko Vucinic and Stevan Jovetic

Montenegro will miss the services of top stars capatin Mirko Vucinic and Stevan Jovetic against Ghana next month in an international friendly due to injuries, GHANASoccernet.com can confirm.

GHANASoccernet.com can confirm the duo have been excluded from coach Branko Brnovic’s 20-man squad selected for exhibition match on 5 March.

Juventus striker Vucinic sprained his right knee in training two weeks ago and scheduled to be out for several weeks, the club confirmed.

Tests conducted ruled out any ligament damage but revealed bruising on his tibia and medial meniscus.

Vucinic has been battling injuries this season and restricted to nine Serie A appearances.

Injury-jinxed Jovetic, who plays for Manchester City, will also not be risked by coach Brnovic.

Belgium-based midfielder Zarko Tomasevic who plays for Kortrijk and Sporting Braga midfielder Nikola Vukcevic have been invited to as replacements.

The match will be played at the City Stadium in Podgorica next Wednesday.
