Jose Mourinho has hinted that his Ghana defender Baba Rahman could be given a starting place in their UEFA Champions League clash against Porto on Tuesday night as he is considering making a number of changes to his starting line-up.

The Chelsea manager warned his Chelsea squad that they must improve their attitude or face certain defeat at Porto in the Champions League tomorrow.

It is believed Loic Remy, Eden Hazard, Cesc Fabregas, Branislav Ivanovic, Kurt Zouma and Nemanja Matic could all face the axe and the exclusion of Ivanovic could pave the way for Rahman to play.

The Ghana defender joined the Blues from German side Augsburg at the start of the season but has failed to play in the Premier League with Mourinho insisting that the youngster is not ready.

However he has played two competitive matches in the UEFA Champions League and the League Cup and with Mourinho furious with his players, despite seeing them come from two goals down to rescue a 2-2 draw at Newcastle on Saturday, the Chelsea boss is considering making a number of changes to his starting line-up.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea's second match of the group stage, Mourinho said: "What has to change? The attitude of the players, because in the first half against Newcastle it was really poor.

"Six of them were walking on the pitch, six of them were looking to the opponents moving the ball and just playing comfortably in their areas. When they got the ball it was slow thinking, slow decisions - that has to change. If it doesn't change, we will lose in Porto, for sure, because they are a better team than Newcastle."

Ramires and Willian, who came off the bench late on to score Chelsea's goals, look certain to be in the first XI after proving they have fully recovered from minor injuries, while Diego Costa is expected to return as his ban doesn't extend to Europe.

Captain John Terry, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, John Obi Mikel, Kenedy and Abdul Baba Rahman are also under consideration.

Mourinho added: "Nothing changed at half-time, it turned on the changes. Ramires and Willian changed the game, not just for their goals but their aggressive play, the pressure in midfield, the quick thinking, the running forward of Ramires, the movement of Willian."

Meanwhile, defender Gary Cahill has revealed he will have a scan on his broken nose next week to discover if he can stop wearing a face mask.
