The Essipong stadium in Sekondi is likely to host the FA Cup final between holders Kotoko and Medeama on August 30, GHANAsoccernet.com understands.

With the Accra sports stadium hugely tipped to host the mega final next month, organizers are tossing with the idea of shifting the game from the capital.

The FA Cup committee is expected to hold a meeting on Tuesday to decide on the road map for the grand finale expected to attract huge numbers with the venue key on the agenda.

The FA Cup has lived up to its billing with champions Kotoko setting up their second final against Medeama in two years following their respective qualifications.

While the Porcupine Warriors delivered an improved 3-1 win over Aduana Stars in their semi-final clash, in-form Akwasi Donsu bagged a sensational brace to hand the Mauve and Yellows a precious 2-1 win over Hearts.

Essipong could be the destination for what is expected to be an explosive contest between two of the finest sides in the Ghanaian top-flight.

This is the fourth successive time that the defending Premier League champions have made the final despite winning it only once in the process having lost to Nania FC and Medeama.
