MTN FA Cup round of 64 draw today

Giants Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak will know their fate when the draw for the MTN FA Cup is conducted on Friday.

With no teams seeded the two powerhouses could meet in an unlikely round of 64 at today’s draw.

Forty-eight teams from the second and third tier league respectively made it from the preliminary stage which involved teams drawn from 96 clubs.

They will be paired against the 16 Premier League club in the elite division.

All qualified sides from the preliminary stage would be placed in the same ballot box with the 16 premier league sides - all drew a bye for the preliminary round - for the one-off games.

Three cases are pending before the disciplinary with the games between K Don FC/Unistar Academy, BA Stars/Bongo FC and Bolga All Stars / Japekrom Mpuasuman yet to be cleared

Defending champions Nania FC were bundled out of the competition at the preliminary stage by Great Olympics.
