Ghana international Mubarak Wakaso is delighted his colleague Abdul Majeed Waris is finally getting the reward of his hard work after scoring again for his side against Angers over the weekend in the French League.

Waris has now scored in his last three games after going four months without a goal for club and a little longer than that for country.

However the former BK Hacken man has silenced his critics with three goals in his last three games and Wakaso is of the view that Waris is only getting the reward of his hard work.

“Waris is one of the hardworking footballers I know and I knew it was just a matter of time before he returned to scoring,” Wakaso told GHANAsoccernet.com

“I am happy because scoring goals gives him confidence after a very difficult period."

“He is a fighter and I am sure we will all see the best from him going forward.”

The goal was not his only contribution as he assisted Sylvain Marveaux to score the opener for Lorient in the 23rd minute before putting his name on the score-sheet midway through the second-half.

Avram Grant will hope he maintains his fine form with the African Cup of Nations five months away and Ghana struggling to score.
