Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso says he is ready to fight for a position if he is to remain with Rubin Kazan.

The talented midfielder has struggled for consistency since joining the Russian club in 2013.

Wakaso’s lack of regular playing time is of concern to many even though he manages to excel at international level with the Black Stars.

A loan move to Celtic at the start of the just ended European season failed to yield any significant result as the midfielder could only manage to play five games all-season-long for the Scottish champions.

He is now set to return to Rubin following the expiration of his loan stint with Celtic.

Many have however urged Wakaso to leave Russia in search of regular first team action.

But the Ghana international insists he is not afraid of the competition at Rubin Kazan and is prepared to fight for his place is he is to stay at the club.

“My agents are still talking to some clubs in different European countries so I can’t say for sure whether I will leave or stay at Rubin,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“I am still waiting to see what happens.

“I am always ready, I am not afraid to remain at Rubin if I am to stay,”

“If I have to go back to Rubin, then so be it but I am also ready to play if I move to any club too.”
