Ghana and Las Palmas midfielder Mubarak Wakaso expects his Las Palmas side to build on their strong performance against giants Barcelona despite a 2-1 defeat over the weekend.

Wakaso, who is on a season long loan with the Canary club played full throttle as his side fell to a 2-1 defeat to Barcelona at the Camp Nou.

The game against Barcelona was Wakaso’s second start on the spin after playing an influential role in their 2-0 victory over Sevilla in mid-week.

The Ghana international is urging his colleagues to build on the positives from the Barcelona game.

“Great game and we played very well throughout and we left the stadium knowing very well that we gave it our all,” Wakaso told GHANAsoccernet.com

“Going forward we have to pick the positives and ensure we play with the same pace and intensity in our subsequent games.”

The Ghana international is expected to finally enjoy consistent club football after a disjointed loan spell with Scottish giants Celtic last season.
