AC Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari has admitted that they cannot win the Serie A title this season insisting they must concentrate on the Champions League to have any chance of winning silverware this season.

The San Siro club are 11th on the league table and a whopping 30 points behind leaders Juventus at the halfway stage of the competition.

AC Milan have 25 points while Juventus have amassed 55 points and are looking to be coasting to their third successive Serie A title.

Milan will take on Atletico Madrid in the Champions League knockout stage in February as this is one of their chances of winning a title this season.

They are also into the last eight of the Italian Cup after they beat Spezia 3-1 last week.

With new coach Clarence Seedorf in charge, Muntari wants his club to focus on excelling in the Champions League and Coppa Italian and forget the Serie A.

"I would really like us to excel in the Champions League and the Italian Cup. We can all see that the league is out of our hands at the moment," Muntari told GHone.

"I must admit that it is uncomfortable looking at the league table and seeing our low position, but we will work hard to place ourselves well.

"It is part of football, though, but we will just focus on the Champions League and the Coppa Italia."

Muntari is expected to return to action for AC Milan next week.
