Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari had to work ‘persistently’ to win the love of his wife Menaye Donkor, the super model has revealed.

The 27-year-old met the 2004 Miss Universe beauty pageant winner during Ghana’s maiden campaign at the World Cup in Germany 2006.

And in an era where the rich and famous, notably footballers are used to getting their way easily especially with women, the new face of GTP disclosed it took eight months to finally give in to Muntari’s proposal.

“I don’t know. What will my mum think? What will my dad think? You know… but for him (Muntari), he was very respectful and very forceful; not forceful but persistent,” she told ETV.

“He knew what he wanted and I think what we had in common was the fact that we love kids.

“When he found out that I was doing charity he was like ‘oh impressive…yeah I like kids too.’

“He fell in love with my nieces and nephews and I was like oh he’s so cute. So like eight months after I was like maybe.”

The two Ghanaian celebrities have been married for almost two years.

Their relationship seems to get stronger by the day despite the busy scheduled as a result of their respective professions.
