Medeama goalkeeper Muntari Tagoe faces a tough battle to keep his No. 1 spot ahead of the CAF Confederation Cup tie against MO Bejaia following the arrival of Daniel Agyei.

Agyei, a former Ghana Under-20 star, is available for selection after being cleared by the continent's governing body, CAF.

The 26-year-old Agyei is the latest addition to the Medeama squad after completing his move on the transfer deadline day.

The former Liberty Professionals shot-stopper is expected to give captain Muntari Tagoe a tough competition ahead of the side's crucial continental tie against the Algerian on Wednesday.

Tagoe has come under mounting criticism in recent times and will need to buckle up to maintain his place in the starting X1.

Medeama host the North Africans in their second group A game, needing a win desperately after losing 3-1 at Congolese powerhouse TP Mazembe.

Agyei was an unused substitute for the Mauve and Yellows as they lost 1-0 at New Edubiase in a Ghana Premier League fixture on Sunday.
