Hearts of Oak experienced midfielder Mustapha Essuman claims he enjoyed playing in the Ghana Premier League this season.

The veteran returned to the country's top flight from Vietnamese side Can Tho FC before the start of the 2015/2016 season.

Essuman was regarded a 'dead horse' because of his age but ended up being the club's most capped player- playing in all 30 league matches.

He played for Liberty Professionals and Ebusua Dwarfs before

"I really enjoyed the premiership this season. Actually it was a difficult league, people see it the other way but the Ghana Premier League is highly competitive," he said.

"We wanted to win the league but football is full of uncertainties. We take it as it is and plan for next season."
